Bitcoin Boom & Bust Cycles: When to Get In and When to Get Out

Bitcoin's price moves in cycles of expansion and correction, making support and resistance levels essential tools for traders and investors. Support is a price level where buying interest is strong enough to slow or stop a decline, while resistance is where selling pressure may prevent the price from moving higher. These levels help identify potential entry and exit zones, but they are never guarantees.

One approach is to look for buying opportunities when Bitcoin pulls back to a strong support level and shows signs of holding above it. Waiting for confirmation, such as a bounce from support or a break above a key resistance level, can help reduce the risk of entering too early. Combining support and resistance with volume and overall market trend provides a stronger trading strategy.

During a bull market, resistance levels often become new support after a successful breakout. Traders may choose to add to their positions on these retests rather than chasing the price after a large move. Patience is often rewarded, as markets frequently revisit important price levels before continuing higher.

When Bitcoin approaches a major resistance level after a strong rally, it may be wise to consider taking partial profits, especially if momentum begins to weaken or the price is rejected multiple times. Selling in stages instead of all at once can help lock in gains while allowing participation if the uptrend continues.

No indicator or price level can predict the market with certainty. The best results come from combining support and resistance analysis with sound risk management, proper position sizing, and emotional discipline. Always use stop-losses where appropriate and never invest more than you can afford to lose.
